Since Uganda is landlocked, vehicles are shipped to Mombasa port in Kenya and then transported by road to Kampala. Transit time from Japan to Mombasa is approximately 25–35 days, plus an additional 5–7 days for road transport to Kampala. We arrange transit documentation through Kenya and handle all export paperwork from Japan.
Uganda Import Regulations
Uganda requires that imported vehicles undergo inspection by a URA-appointed inspection agent before shipping. There is no strict age limit, but vehicles must meet road safety standards. Import duty, VAT, and other taxes are payable based on the vehicle's customs value. We coordinate with approved inspectors to ensure your vehicle passes inspection.

Vehicles destined for Uganda are cleared in transit at Mombasa and transported to Kampala by truck or driven. We provide the necessary transit documents including the Bill of Lading, export certificate, and a customs transit bond.
